Banksia earrings-cutwork-etch-large-classic blue
My sister, mum and I often go camping down at Litchfield National Park during the dry season and where we camp has these super lovely banksia trees. They have these beautiful silvery green leaves and often there are pods scattered on the ground. Like so many forms in nature the banksia pods are such a lovely form and whilst I’ve done a few drawings and paintings of them I’ve been wanting to do a banksia design for ages, particularly after my sister Liz made some beautiful hand-poured resin ones. I really wanted to capture the bulbous forms of the pod hood thingys, hard to get the essence of a 3D shape in a 2D form but I’m super happy with how these turned out. Hope you love them too!

Dimensions: 32mm(w) x 80mm(h) with a hanging length of approximately 95mm (includes the length of the ear wire).
Made from hand painted, lightweight acrylic with niobium hypoallergenic earwires.
Note that the colour will look different in real life. I’ve tried reeeallly hard to try and get the colours looking similar but due to how cameras, monitors and screens process and display colour it is really hard to get them accurate.
